Fired up! Could’ve put 10 but since this is more of a testing components and drives rig, don’t care for updating it plus it’s nice to have a Windows 7 rig again. Best MS OS of this millennium

I did battle with so many HP SFFs (and Compaq SFFs before that) that I don’t know if I could have fun with one unless a hammer or explosives are involved.

I don’t understand, you cute two of the same chassis to make one?
What is the point in using Windows 7 nowadays ?
The best MS OS of this millennium is Windows Me, obviously !

I love this kind of thing but that seems like a LOT of work for a 2nd gen i5

You need to install a 1080ti and do some folding with that box.

That’s way more effort than I put in. I tried not to do more than swap out wiring harnesses when I reused big-name cases . It’s funny how they’ll make the entire thing out of standard parts but then have a single molded plug for case switches and LEDs that don’t have a standard layout on motherboards .

Yeah, I’ve got a dead i5-2500k system sitting on the floor behind me (well really I think it’s probably just the motherboard that’s dead, but I no longer have the parts I’d need to troubleshoot it). I could have tried to revive it, but instead I just spent the $200 and picked up an i3-9100F, a motherboard, and 16GB of RAM to replace it. Only reason it hasn’t been tossed yet is that I’ve been lazy about cleaning.

It’s pretty appalling that we still don’t have an industry standard single plug for those case switches and LEDs. And if we don’t get that, at least spend a few cents more and color-code the connectors.

If you want anything from the old system it’s yours for the cost of shipping. Though as noted, the system wasn’t working so some of it could be dead (it would just reboot almost immediately, which with a known-good power supply seems likely to be the motherboard). The stuff that I didn’t reuse is:
i5-2500k ( I reused the cooler, but I have some stock Intel coolers around as well).
ASUS P8P67-M (Rev 3.0) motherboard (As noted, I wouldn’t have high hopes here)
16GB (4x 4GB) PNY Optima DDR3 1333 RAM
HT Omega Striker 7.1 Dolby/DTS PCI (not PCI-E) sound card.
